The military is being increasingly used to help in disaster relief, to fight wildfires, and carry out rescue and remedial work after floods. Whereas this is an extension of work they have always carried out, is this what the military should be doing? Or is it time for a more formal and dedicated climate-disaster force? There is also a new and pressing need to have an active, well-equipped military in the light of current conflicts around the world, and with others in the wings waiting to explode, including in the Pacific.

To discuss these and many other issues we are extremely fortunate to be joined by Rear-Admiral Christopher Robinson, OMM, CD, the Commander of Maritime Forces Pacific. He is hugely respected as a leader, and greatly experienced with Commander Canadian Fleet Atlantic, and Director General Naval Force Development among many leading roles.

Our discussions might even include the role Moby’s Pub has played in the development of the careers of many naval officers.
