This program explores the relationships between the Land and the Sea and the music and stories they inspire. The first half will feature chamber works related to the land and the stories that come from it, from Sibelius to Bloch, to Carmen Baraden's "The Raven Conspiracy". The second half features "Seasons of the Sea", with words by Rosemary Georgeson, Coast Salish/Sahtu Dene artist and music by Jeffrey Ryan. This cross-cultural collaborative work brilliantly weaves stories and music together about life on and around the sea.
