Event Notes
We are thrilled to open the season with the taqəš and Other Works program featuring a stunning line-up of signature dances from Ballet Kelowna’s contemporary ballet repertoire. With Cameron Fraser-Monroe’s powerful and compelling taqəš [tawKESH], Guillaume Côté’s mesmerizing Bolero, and Alysa Pires’ vivacious audience favourite MAMBO, this high energy three-in-one performance promises to please a wide range of audiences. Indigenous storytelling, a breathtaking interpretation of Ravel’s most famous melody, and a colourful joie de vivre set to a vibrant soundtrack of Latin, swing, and jazz standards promise to make for a magical and memorable evening.
Opening in 2003, Ballet Kelowna presents a dynamic repertoire of neo-classical and contemporary dance and is a leader in commissioning works from emerging and established Canadian choreographers.
With post-show talk back | Thank you to Joan Farlinger, Debbi & Mark Toole, and Salt Spring Coffee for sponsoring this performance. | Special thanks to Dance West Network for supporting this presentation.
