Shakespeare’s Romeo & Juliet

exitStageLeft presents Shakespeare’s Romeo & Juliet like you’ve never seen. Set in an all girls school, where women’s etiquette, religious rule and censorship are alive and well, four young women struggle to find their faith, sexuality and voice. After class one day Aurora (played by Kahlila Ball) presents a contraband copy of Romeo and Juliet to her three friends. The girls voraciously, and at times trepidatiously, devour the text. Through the voices of Shakespeare’s most iconic lovers the four young women begin to explore and discover who they are and the transformative power of their creative expression.

Starring Kahlila Ball, Amelia McCluskey, Calla Adubofour-Poku and Jo Gaffney, GISPA’s national improv champions, adept at quick changes in character, thinking on their feet and excellent comic timing, this production is sure to delight, enthral and surprise.
