Elon Höglund and Emmanuelle Lê Phan, the two founders of Tentacle Tribe, draw on their experience as professional dancers (Cirque Du Soleil, Cirque Éloize, RUBBERBANDance, Bboyizm, Out Innerspace Dance Theatre) to develop a method that merges several philosophies of movement and a variety of techniques. The pair are well recognized in the street dance scene as B-boy and B-girl, and as seasoned stage performers; the two combine movement techniques that transcend style boundaries and create works that express the embodiment of music beyond technique. During the workshop, participants will study some concepts found in breaking and popping with a contemporary approach. "We aim to diversify our vocabulary while raising our notion of the body and our consciousness of movement. Whether standing, on the ground, upside down, in counterweight, with a partner, we will explore the capabilities of our body with harmony and geometry." - Elon Höglund and Emmanuelle Lê Phan

Knee pads, toques and shoes recommended.
