SS Concert Band:Tales of Old

Salt Spring Concert Band presents Tales of Old, a diverse array of modern and traditional repertoire, on Friday, November 3. Tales of Old takes us on a mystical journey through long forgotten lands. Experience musical evocations of fantastic and familiar creatures – the unicorn, firebird, thunderbird and hawk. Travel through beautiful landscapes - lochs, mountains and a mysterious village. Selections range from Eric Whitacre’s serene “Lux Aurumque”, through favourite movie themes including Elmer Bernstein’s “The Great Escape”, to an exciting new composition, “The Gathering of Eagles”, a song shared Squamish First Nation artist, Bob Baker. Join Salt Spring Concert Band on this journey of music and imagination.
