Christmas with Scrooge

Back this year "Christmas with Scrooge"! It was 47 years ago that Ray and Virginia Newman first brought Scrooge to life here on Salt Spring. With a veritable "cast of thousands" over the ensuing half-century, this island favourite is set to sing and dance us through the past, present and future once again! Sue Newman directs her parents' original, musical adaptation of Charles Dickens' tale of the old miser, and the ghostly visitors who bring about his redemption. With Patrick Cassidy as Ebenezer Scrooge, there are a host of familiar local actors who have grown up with the show. Sue’s daughter, Patrice Bowler, is one of them! And there are three generations of the Hackett family! There are also new families involved onstage and off! Newman Family Productions is proud to welcome Karen Arney at the grand piano.
